UMW, UMMen, Youth and Kits

Monday afternoon, Carol Gaston, conference president of Virginia United Methodist Women, presented that group's report, followed by the report of United Methodist Men. John Reeves, president of the conference United Methodist Men, thanked the conference members for the many prayers he received during his recent battle with cancer, which is now in remission. He will step down as president and Brian Manwiller has been elected to take his place.

The United Methodist Youth gave their report and extended thanks to Waverly "Smitty" Smith as he steps down as the conference director of youth ministries.

In line with "talking about the work of the laity," the Rev. Denise Honeycutt, director of mission, talked about the kits that have been donated during this conference. The Health, School, Layette, Sewing, and Flood Kits are sent around the world and used here in Virginia.
