celebrated Holy Communion for the opening
worship service of the 2008 Southeastern
Jurisdictional Conference in Lake Junaluska.

worship was the Rev. Roger Dowdy, deacon
from the Virginia Conference who currently
serves as Director of Ministry and Event
Development at Lake Junaluska.

With their Number 2 pencils ready, members
of the Virginia delegation prepare to vote for
a new bishop for the Southeastern Jurisdiction.

Virginia delegates to Jurisdictional Conference
vote to elect a new bishop. Paul Leeland from
North Carolina was elected bishop on the sixth
ballot. The final ballot was taken Wednesday
evening, and the results were reported
Thursday morning when the conference reconvened.

music and dance to open the Wednesday
afternoon session of the Southeastern
Jurisdictional Conference in Lake Junaluska.
