Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Gail grew up in FairfaxCounty and graduated from JamesW.RobinsonSecondary School.She began her undergraduate studies at RadfordUniversity focusing on Music Education, and in 1991 Gail received her Bachelor of Science in Christian Education from LibertyUniversity. The Rev. Louis Strickler, Gail’s husband, is serving as pastor at Woodlawn UMC, and they are the parents of Emily and Banjamin.
In 1991 Gail began teaching in the Weekday Religious Education program in the RockinghamCounty school district.A branch of the Virginia Council of Churches, the program is an interdenominational basic Bible class for elementary age children.Gail joined the staff at Bonsack UMC as Youth Director in 1997, and three years later she became Minister of Education and Youth for GrandinBaptistChurch.
In 2003 the family moved to Portsmouth, VA, and Gail served at Monumental UMC as well as assistant manager of the Cokesbury Bookstore in Chesapeake, VA.2006 brought another move and the family settled in Roanoke, VA, where Gail began serving as Program Director for the Community Outreach Program, which is based out of Trinity UMC in downtown Roanoke.
The Community Outreach Program is a ministry that seeks to meet the physical, spiritual and educational needs of inner city children and youth who live in at risk environments.
Gail began serving full time as a Church and Community Worker in June 2007.
