Mark was born in Hastings, Nebraska, and was raised in San Diego, California.His journey toward mission began after struggling with his faith during his college years.
Initially attending San DiegoStateUniversity, where he met his wife Linda, Mark later earned a degree in fisheries at ShastaCollege in Redding, CA.
Becoming a member of the Yreka UMC and serving in Iowa with Linda, also a Church and Community Worker and ordained UMC clergy, were important parts to Mark’s spiritual journey.The idea of serving others as a way of life began to take shape for Mark during Linda’s seminary years and his Emmaus Walk, and continued to grow as he participated in mission trips, community service and Bible studies.
When Mark and Linda made a commitment to church ministry, he saw his role as more of a supportive role while Linda pastored.After much discussion and prayer they felt called to do mission work together.
Mark has been employed in the propane, woodworking and hotel industries. Married for 34 years, Mark and Linda are parents of three adult children and three grandchildren.He has a great love for the outdoors and enjoys camping and fishing, especially fly-fishing.
His life experiences having had a major influence on his mission calling, Mark is excited with the thought that he will be living the Matthew 25 ministries.
