Screening of Volunteers and Staff for all who work with children, youth and at-risk adults
We recommend for screening national criminal record checks for all who work with children, youth and at-risk adults.
There are several companies that provide national criminal record checks. The VirginiaConferenceUnitedMethodistChurch is currently using LexisNexis. Please see the link to the left for the contact information and guidelines to sign up with them.
You will need to complete an application form with LexisNexis and provide a 501C3 non-profit form.Below you will find the link to GCFA for a copy of the group ruling letter on being a 501C3 organization if you don’t have that document already.
Although LexisNexis won’t officially post rates, the VirginiaConferenceUnitedMethodistChurch is currently paying between $5 and $13 per person for most background checks.
Please contact Ann Davis, Director of Children’s Ministries and Discipleship, at the VirginiaConferenceUnitedMethodistChurch if you have any questions or concerns.
