Church Resources

Prayer Focus:

  • Pray that Brazilian Christians will have a greater desire to know more about God and His son, Jesus Christ.
  • Pray for the vital ministry of the full-time missionaries working in Brazil.
  • Pray that the newly created believers will be able to deal with opposition coming from their families, close relatives and friends while they continue to proclaim the Gospel.
  • Pray for the street children that their lives will be cared for and that they will meet Christ.

Litanies:
Leader:
God created the Church to be a spiritual temple built from living stones.
People: We are a few those stones, built together from all nations, peoples, and cultural backgrounds.
Leader: “When [we] come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation.”
People:  “Truly, all these things must be done for the strengthening of His Church.”  (1 Cor. 14:26)
Leader:  To be one in Christ we must strive to build relationships with all of Christ’s people.
People: Surely, to work together to further the Church’s mission in Brazil and at home is the path to unity through service.
Leader: And all God’s people said
People: Amen!

Leader: Emmanuel, God with us.
People: The love of Christ knows no boundaries.
Leader: He beautifully gives it to all of his people.
People:  He is the shepherd and we are called to hear his voice.
Leader:  This is the voice of truth.
People: He will never leave us, for he is faithful.
Leader: All the time, God is good
People: God is with us all the time

Leader: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
People: For He has given himself to us and our brothers and sisters around the world.
Leader: Just as the light shines all over the earth, his love abounds even more
People:  We accept the call to spread the love of Christ.
Leader: For nothing in this world can stand against the all-encompassing love of Christ.
People: If Christ be for us, who can be against us?

Music:

Brazilian Folk Song

Cantad al Señor

1 Sing to the Lord a new song,
you sing to the Lord, all the Earth;
2 you sing to the Lord, you bless his name,

proclaim day after day his victory.

3 Sing to the towns his glory,
his wonders to all the nations;
4 because the Lord is great, and very worthy of praise,
more frightful than all the Gods.

5 Because the Gods of the gentiles are of appearance,
whereas the Lord has made the sky;
6 honor and Majesty precede him,
force and splendor are in his temple.

7 Families of the towns, you acclaim the Lord,
you acclaim the glory and the power of the Lord,
8 you acclaim the glory of the name of the Lord,
you enter his vestibules bringing to him offerings.
