Russia Music

This area is divided into two sections: New Hymn Texts to Familiar Tunes and Other Suggested Hymns. The New Hymn Texts have been written to highlight the specific mission context of Russia and can be easily sung to familiar tunes in the United Methodist Hymnal. Other Suggested Hymns are appropriate mission-oriented hymns from The United Methodist Hymnal, Supplement and Global Praise (I & II)

Lift up Christ’s cross, with our love for Jesus burning
For Russia’s people, and for their good.  

In Moscow’s fabled squares, Russia is seeking
Leaders to share faith in Christ, and his love.
Joined in their cause, we empow’r their leaders, speaking
Faith for the present, and hope above.  

Lift up the helpless ones, Christ’s love now showing
Where God is leading in this bold new day,
Feeding the hungry, the Russian church is growing
As hearts are joined, and God’s people pray.
