Susan Putnam is a United Methodist missionary serving as a Church and Community Worker at the Henry Fork Service Center at Rocky Mount, Virginia. She is serving there as the executive director.

The center provides services and experiences that enable children, youth and families to have a better quality of life through the following programs: pre-school, after-school, summer day camp, parenting and support groups. Susan says she hopes to "facilitate the work already happening and to be able to expand in needed directions as they emerge, with God's guidance."

Susan was born in Alabama, grew up in Georgia, and has lived and worked in both places in her adult life. She has a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from GA Institute of Technology and for several years co-owned a computer consulting business before being called into ministry through missionary service. She has been active in UMW and has served in several United Methodist Churches as treasurer and organist. She led two volunteer in mission teams to Bolivia and participated in one to Brazil. She has also previously served as the program director at the United Methodist Service Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Susan has two adult children, Keith and Cynthia, and four granddaughters: Waithera Janine, Murugi Susan and Wambui Marian Mwenja, Gathoni Rosalyn Mwenja. Her home conference is North Alabama and she is also closely affiliated with the North Georgia Annual Conference.

Susan Putnam
