Tell how you're connecting to church on your prayer card
June 28, 2013 - As part of the All Things New - Equipping Vital Congregations report at Annual Conference, every member of Annual Conference was asked to find a card taped under his or her chair. Each card had the name of a congregation in the Virginia Conference and asked the person receiving the card to pray for that congregation and make a connection. "Like many, I came away from Annual Conference full of enthusiasm and excitement about the leadership of Bishop Cho and the spiritual and prayerful tone of our three days together," said the Rev. Larry Davies, Lynchburg District superintendent and chair of the All Things New - Equipping Vital Congregations Bishop's Steering Team. "One part that particularly excited me was the card taped under my chair asking me to connect and pray for another church in our conference. I received McDonalds Mill UMC on the Roanoke District, and I have begun praying for that church and I have e-mailed their pastor. What about you? Can you tell me what creative things you are doing to connect with the church you received? How will you stay in touch?" Davies asks that responses be sent to him by e-mail to LarryDavies@PrayWithYou.org.
